This small bouncy ball probably came into our lives when my daughter was little. Over the years it migrated from her toy collection to my desk, earmarked as one of those cool, inspirational objects that will come in handy one day (maybe!). Sometimes the cat would sneak away with it, and the ball would go missing for months at a time.

Lucky you, the day eventually arrived and this toy ball was immortalized on canvas. Smitten with the idea of painting the internal depth of an object, I also aimed to contrast it with the sense of external vastness.
