Sunflowers and Hemp | original artwork

Racing each other to the sky, how fun it was to watch these two plants commingle in the field! Morning light-bright to late afternoon, the hemp plant and the sunflower together producing a buffet of superfoods for song-birds.

These tall swaying hemp stalks were dried over-winter and then put through a branch-chipper by our local arborist. This blonde colored chipped hemp stalk made the perfect mulch for seed-started flower seedlings and established plants in the garden.

'Sunflowers and Hemp' is original artwork by Karina Zedalis in 2024, inspired by images she took while farming hemp and flowers in Boulder County, Colorado.

12 x 12 x 1.5, wrapped canvas, painted in acrylics, with a touch of iridescent green. Painting is signed on outer edge of canvas.
