Living in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, a good day includes seeing a wild animal or two. As I worked on this canvas using a photograph I had snapped a few weeks prior, my two cats were sprawled out on the couch, deep in sleep. Looking out my front window, who do I see walking up the driveway? My bobcat model!

It was a surreal moment at the easel for sure. My brain registered a cat walking, but confusion set-in quickly because I knew my two cats were next to me on the couch. Quickly I scrambled to find my phone and capture another image of this graceful cat, only to watch him run off to the tall grasses in our meadows, from where he was first spotted.

Don't let this elusive bobcat get away!
